Readers and Dealers of Poker

Prank_2 Leave it to the cool cats over at WCP to have the latest and entertaining news.  Check out there post on the poker dealer who decided to start a scary business.  Also, they have sexy photos up of Liz Lieu who is apparently receiving not-so-nice comments on her blog

This reminds me why I had to write a cheer-up-Pauly post last week.  I was trying to be optimistic, despite my dark hours of late, but I had forgotten some of his twitters.  After Pauly's car accident during the WSOP, someone wrote... I wish you died. Or something like that. Nasty Comments are the modern day prank/crank call.  In fact, I might start commenting on everyone's blog... is your refrigerator running?
On one hand, I want to say there are a lot of shitty people in the world... on the other... I can't help but think of two drunk and giddy 12-year-old boys (after sneaking alcohol from dad) playing around on the Internet.  I can hear them:

Boy 1 "Dude, you should write, I love you."

Boy 2 "No, I'm gonna write, you're gay."

Boy 1 "What, are you 10?  Be a man... write... I wish you died."

Boy 2 "Dude! That's awesome!"

Uh, yeah, whatever dude.

ESPN Begins WSOP Tonight + The Nuts

Phil_laak_2

ESPN begins airing the WSOP tonight even though the final nine players of the WSOP Main Event won't resume play until November 9th.  And since the selected events to air were expensive... it should guarantee coverage of famous pros like Chris "Sweet Baby Jesus" Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth and Phil Laak not in disguise (see photo).

Get you in the mood video below... full ESPN WSOP Schedule along with "Sweet Baby Jesus" explanation after the jump.

Are You There Poker World? It's Me, Michele

Baglady4 While some players are learning what beats what in poker... others are tired of the game.  They are tired of cheaters, tired of liars and tired of being sick and tired.  Because really... traveling all over the world with your friends winning lots of money gets really old.

But that's not me because I looove poker. I love poker sooo much that I just sold my dining room table to buy a new koa wood poker table with matching heart shaped chairs.  And I'm replacing my 1940's Mona Lisa reproduction that my mother bought in the 60's at the Louvre with an ace of spades latch hook rug that I made during the WSOP.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.  I'm actually tired of poker right now.  I'm tired of living in Houston and not having the ability to play legally so I may build a bank roll.  I'm tired of seeing other women getting sponsorships at the WSOP when they've never even played in the WSOP before.  I mean seriously... who really believes super hot young chicks are good for marketing?  That's totally an old wives tale.  Yep, that was a pun.

And more importantly, I'm tired of not making any money.  I need a job.  A job that pays really well.  In fact, here's what I want... I want to work part-time or on my schedule, from home, I will travel but in short bits because I gave birth to children that I like to be around. I'm very smart (with an I.Q. of 140-ish) but exceptional at acting like an idiot so you may feel more intelligent in my presence, I can... write, manage a website, accounting, practice law really well without a license, broker any of your land deals in Texas, take the initiative and figure things out on my own, can take out the trash without having a temper tantrum, I don't manipulate to get ahead nor talk shit about others, I don't cause a bunch of drama and I won't sleep with your husband.  Leadership skills? I own two companies that I find boring. I take serious pride in my work and care about the company's bottom line, I understand people form corporations and partnerships to make money and don't take it personally when they actually achieve their goal, I'm legal and speak English fluently. I don't lie, show up drunk, cheat, back-stab or steal. But I am horrible with typos when they are made for free.

Oh and I want to get paid doing something cool and fun.  You know... like be a model, be on Saturday Night Live (I would move for that one), produce shows, commercials or puppet shows, get a book deal, sportscaster, guess your weight at Six Flags or be the Bearded Lady in the circus.   After all, if you love what you do then you never have to work. Uh, yeah so I'll let you know how all that works out.  :)

Looking for Poker Post WSOP...

Now that the WSOP is over, poker players will disperse into groups by going to different poker tournaments around the world.  Tournaments and (their schedules) coming up are Legends of Poker , the APPT , the EPT, the Borgata Poker Open and the WSOPE.

And if you're busy or too broke from gambling then be sure to watch the ESPN coverage of the 2008 WSOP starting this Tuesday night.

WPT Moving to Fox Sports

Img_1951

According to Pokerati, they were the second to break the news that the World Poker Tour is moving to Fox Sports.  This will be great for the WPT as Fox Sports is a big step up.  Hmmm, maybe Jeffrey Pollack put in a good word for them after Steve Lipscomb gave a fun visit at the 2008 WSOP.

I don't know who broke the story first because I quickly left his site to be third.

Tiffany Michelle Releases Statement Today

Kirill

Tiffany Michelle has released a statement today in regards to her recent disagreement with PokerNews.  She is confirming Monday's (unofficial) statement which is also what I deleted from my post last night since I wanted confirmation from Tiffany before posting...

According to the statement... PokerNews was OK with Tiffany Michelle signing a deal with an online site and was hoping for a Pokerstars deal.  However, PokerNews was only OK with a deal if they were to receive a portion of any new deal she made... or something like that.  I would agree if they were paying her way for marketing only, however they were receiving 66.6% percent of her winnings.

Hump to the jump to read Tiffany Michelle's Official Statement

WSOP Results: Pauly Needs Group Hug

Pauly has made his annual WSOP post on I'm-so-disgusted-right-now-I-may-never-write-again.  Ahhh, the life of Pauly.  I should call him and cheer him up by reminding him that there are professional athletes and Universities on probation all the time due to drugs, money, theft or for being mean to another human being (while lookin' out for numero uno).

Wsop_media_row

Pauly, more WSOP photos and your cheer up message is at the bottom of the post so hump to the jump...

Tiffany Michelle & Poker Sponsorships

I posted on July 3rd that Tiffany Michelle was backed by a pro for the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Tiffany Michelle told Poker Road Radio that she signed an agreement with two individuals (Tony G and Jeff Lisandro) to put up money for a percentage of her winnings and she agreed to wear a patch.  But they/PokerNews states that she was to represent PokerNews.  Who is right?

As for the night of the party, Michelle had no obligation to tell anyone who was backing her at that point.  And if she were privately backed she would still have no obligation.  Meaning, shit talking about what she said to this person and that is

US Poker Players at the 2008 WSOP & Benjo the French

My friend and French poker writer Benjo made a post during the WSOP about the abundance of American flags and pride.  There were flags of all, errrr most nations on the tables during the 2008 WSOP Main Event.  Benjo may be French but don't label him with the French stereotype because Benjo loves America and is nice, friendly, funny and did I mention very, very, very nice.

As for our American flag pride...  It's a result of many things.  Here's a few suggestions...

Owen Crowe Says Goodbye

Owen Crowe has left the WSOP after his pockets nines were killed by the old nemesis hand. The nemesis hand for most is AQ.  BTW - nines usually run hot here in the Amazon Ballroom but today...not so much.  Brandon Cantu was eliminated with the same hand.
